LJ strike

Many members of LJ are planning a 'strike' in response to the many changes that have happened in the last year or so. If you're interested in participation, the 24 hour strike times are listed here. I don't know if I'll intentionally strike, or if I just don't post too often, but I figured it would be nice to share the info for people that would be interested. The strikers plan on not posting, no rss, no comments, basically, give LJ no content. So maybe just closing that page for a day.

The 24-hour strike will begin at the following times for the following locations:

Thursday, March 20, 2:00 PM -- Honolulu
Thursday, March 20, 4:00 PM -- Anchorage
Thursday, March 20, 5:00 PM -- San Francisco; Los Angeles

While I dislike many of the changes, I still want to hold onto the idea that LJ isn't all bad. They have made many mistakes, but who hasn't. I really hate the idea of getting rid of "free" accounts, though, and forcing unpaid users to view ads (I wouldn't have joined LJ if I had to view ads). I definately wouldn't have stayed. I'd probably treat it like I do Facebook and Myspace (adblock the hell out of the pages, and refresh a few times, rarely or never update).
