sleeping through the holidays

I really haven't been posting in here that often. Not sure why. Don't really have anything spectacular to say. It's almost 2008. I'm excited about another day off, but I think the whole "new year" thing isn't really a big deal to me. I have no plans for resolutions, overall. I'd still like to do more things, like a ski trip, caving once or twice, and I want to try indoor rock climbing.

Over the holidays, maskm and I went to CT to visit his family. While we were in the hotel watching TV, there were a bunch of shows about people climbing Mt Everest. Now i wanna do it. So, I guess I'll have to figure out some rock climbing first. Scary that so many people die there, and a lot of people don't actually make it to the top. But, it's something I'd like to do at some point.

I'd like some more time in the new year. I felt the last few months have been really busy, between work, and taking a class. I haven't been to the gym in ages, and I haven't been able to convince myself to bike to work for almost a month. I really want to get back into the swing of things. Not biking seems to have helped me put on a few extra pounds (I'm sure the holiday candy hasn't helped). But, I also feel like a slug. I haven't signed up for any Triathlons this year, not sure if I will. Swimming is a challenge, and I haven't practiced swimming in months, pretty much since July. I am registered for the MS ride, though. I haven't done any workouts on the cycle trainer. I did set it up, and get it moving a little bit, but found myself distracted by having nothing to do.

It is 5am, and I'm not sleeping yet. I wonder what my "natural" sleep schedule would be if I didn't work days. Can I retire yet?
